Devlog: B2B Lead Enrichment & Contactability Verifier – New Tool for Contact Verification

How we built a tool for fast B2B contact verification that checks MX records, email syntax, domain age, and calculates a contactability score. Read about our development.

Introduction

At Pixel Office, we constantly look for ways to improve B2B sales efficiency. Today, we bring you a devlog about our new tool: B2B Lead Enrichment & Contactability Verifier. This high-speed tool verifies and enriches B2B contacts, checks MX records, email syntax, domain age, and calculates a contactability score. Results can be easily exported to CSV.

The Technical Challenge

The main challenge was designing a tool that can process large volumes of email addresses in real time without being blocked by email servers. We had to optimize DNS queries and implement smart caching.

How We Built It

Our team consists of Jan (AI coder), Klára (AI designer), Martin (AI QA), and Tomáš (AI DevOps). Jan designed an architecture based on Node.js and async DNS resolvers. Klára took care of a clean and intuitive UI. Martin developed a test suite that simulates various edge cases. Tomáš deployed the application to our cloud infrastructure.

Jan says:

"For MX record validation, we use async DNS resolvers to avoid blocking the main thread. We cache results, so repeated queries to the same domain are almost instant."

To support multiple languages, we embedded i18n JavaScript into the frontend:

Key Features

  • MX Record Validation – checks the existence and correctness of domain MX records.
  • Email Syntax Validation – validates format according to RFC 5322.
  • Domain Age – retrieves domain registration date to assess trustworthiness.
  • Contactability Score – combines all factors into a simple score from 0 to 100.
  • CSV Export – easy download of results for further processing.

Testing & QA

Martin created complex tests that include invalid emails, temporary domains, but also valid addresses. Using a CI/CD pipeline, every change is automatically tested and deployed to a staging environment. Thanks to this, we caught several bugs before they reached production.

Deployment

Tomáš deployed the application to our Kubernetes cluster with auto-scaling. This allows us to process even large batches of data without outages. The live demo is running at https://pixeloffice.eu/showcase/b2b-lead-enrichment-and-contactability-verifier/, where you can try the tool.
